SMS Messaging Consent

Overview
GetDues provides SMS payment reminder services for youth sports teams. This page explains how we obtain consent to send SMS messages and how recipients can manage their preferences.
How Consent is Obtained
Consent to receive SMS messages from GetDues is obtained in the following ways:
1. Team Manager Registration
When a team manager adds a player to their team roster, they provide parent/guardian contact information including phone numbers. By providing a phone number, the team manager confirms they have obtained consent from the parent/guardian to receive payment-related SMS messages on behalf of the team.
2. Parent/Guardian Acknowledgment
Parents and guardians are informed by their team manager that they will receive payment reminders via SMS. The first message sent includes opt-out instructions. By not opting out, the recipient confirms their consent to continue receiving messages.
Types of Messages
GetDues sends the following types of SMS messages:
- Payment Reminders: Notifications about upcoming or overdue team dues
- Payment Confirmations: Confirmation when a payment has been recorded
GetDues does not send marketing or promotional messages via SMS.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on team activity and payment status. Typically:
- 1-3 reminder messages per outstanding payment
- Messages are spaced at least 24 hours apart
- Maximum of 10 messages per month per recipient
How to Opt-Out
Recipients can stop receiving SMS messages at any time by:
- Replying STOP:Reply "STOP" to any message from GetDues
- Preferences Page: Click the link in any reminder to access your parent portal, then go to Notification Preferences to disable SMS
- Contact Team Manager: Ask your team manager to update your notification preferences or remove your phone number
After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent unless you opt back in.
How to Opt Back In
If you previously opted out and wish to receive SMS reminders again:
- Access your parent portal using the link provided by your team manager
- Go to Notification Preferences
- Enable "Text Reminders"
Costs
Message and data rates may apply. GetDues does not charge for SMS messages, but your mobile carrier may charge standard messaging rates. Check with your carrier for details about your messaging plan.
Privacy
Phone numbers are used solely for sending payment reminders. Your mobile phone number and any information collected as part of the SMS messaging program will never be shared with or sold to third parties or lead generators. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.

Service Provider
SMS messages are sent by GetDues using Twilio, a third-party messaging service provider. Messages will come from a GetDues phone number.
