Manual reminders
Send one-time reminders to members on demand. This gives you full control over when and who receives payment notifications.
How to send a manual reminder:
From your team dashboard, click Send Reminders.
Choose SMS or email (or both).
Select members (all, unpaid only, or custom selection).
Preview the message and click Send Now.
Automatic reminders (Pro feature)
GetDues Pro subscribers can set up recurring reminders that send automatically on a schedule. Perfect for busy managers.
Automatic reminder options:
- Send weekly reminders to unpaid members every Monday
- Send 3 days before a due date, then 3 days after
- Stop sending once a member pays in full
- Pause or edit schedules at any time
Pro Tip:
Combine manual and automatic reminders. Use automatic for recurring follow-ups, and send manual reminders for special announcements or deadlines.
SMS vs email channels
GetDues supports both SMS (text message) and email reminders. Each has benefits:
SMS (Text)
- ✓ Higher open rates
- ✓ Immediate delivery
- ✓ Short, direct message
- ✓ Best for urgent reminders
- ✓ More detailed content
- ✓ No character limits
- ✓ Professional appearance
- ✓ Easier to forward/archive
You can send both SMS and email in the same reminder for maximum reach.
Filtering by payment status
When sending reminders, you can target specific members based on their payment status:
- Unpaid only — send reminders to members who still owe money
- Paid only — send thank-you messages or season updates
- Partially paid — remind about installments or remaining balances
- All members — team-wide announcements or season kickoff info
Best Practice:
Use “Unpaid only” filters to avoid annoying members who have already paid. GetDues automatically excludes paid members from payment reminders.
What the reminder message looks like
GetDues reminders are clean, professional, and include all the info members need to pay:

Best practices for reminders
- Send early: Remind members a week before the due date, not just after it passes
- Be consistent: Weekly reminders work better than sporadic messages
- Filter wisely: Only send to unpaid members to avoid reminder fatigue
- Use both channels: SMS for urgency, email for details
- Set expectations: Let your team know when to expect reminders at the season start
