Balance Summary View
When a parent taps their reminder link, they see a clean summary page showing:
- The team name and their player’s name
- A list of all outstanding dues with amounts and due dates
- The total balance owed across all dues
- A clear breakdown showing what’s been paid and what’s pending
Example:U12 Thunder Soccer - Spring 2025Total Balance: $125.00• Registration Fee: $100.00 (due Mar 15)• Tournament Entry: $25.00 (due Apr 1)
Payment Options Display
Below the balance summary, parents see all available payment methods you’ve configured:
- Online card payments (if Stripe is connected) - a “Pay Now” button for instant checkout
- Venmo, Zelle, PayPal - your username/handle shown clearly with copy-paste buttons
- Cash/check instructions - if you’ve added custom instructions
Parents choose whichever method works best for them. No need to ask “Where do I send it?” — it’s all right there.
Notification Preferences
At the bottom of the portal, parents can manage how they receive reminders:
- Toggle email reminders on or off
- Toggle SMS reminders on or off
- Update their contact info if it’s changed
This gives parents full control — no need to ask you to “stop texting me” or “email instead of text.” They can adjust it themselves.
48-Hour Link Expiry
Portal links sent via reminder expire after 48 hours for security. This prevents:
- Old links being forwarded or shared accidentally
- Unauthorized access to payment portals
- Confusion from outdated balance information
If a parent needs access after the link expires, simply send them a new reminder — takes just one click.
No Account Needed for Parents
Parents don’t need to sign up, create passwords, or remember logins. The portal is designed for one-tap access:
- They tap the link in their reminder and see their balance immediately
- For card payments, they enter payment info and get a receipt — that’s it
- For other payment methods, they see your handle and can pay via their preferred app
This reduces friction and ensures more parents actually check and pay — no app download, no registration hassle.
Phone Verification for Payments
When a parent clicks “Pay Now” to pay by card, they’re prompted to verify their phone number:
- A 6-digit code is sent via SMS to their registered phone number
- They enter the code to confirm it’s really them
- This prevents unauthorized payments and adds a layer of security
This simple step protects both you and the parent — ensuring only the actual member or guardian can process a payment.
